Trees for the future

A unique ecological project Ginkgo Labyrinth is aimed to unite people and promote environmental friendliness, reforestation and conservation of the existing forests, relic and endangered plants. It will be a nursery of 10.000 ginkgo biloba trees. In the future everyone will be able to take a seedling for free and plant it wherever he/she wants. Thus forests of these relic trees will grow all over Belarus. The Labyrinth will become a unique natural place of interest.

GINKGO BILOBA

 

This relic tree came through from the Mesozoic era (250 millions years ago) and survived till nowadays practically unchanged.  Dinosaurs used to feed off ginkgo fruits, however ginkgo outlived those creatures. We chose this particular tree for our project because of its outstanding features.

A FINE SHAPE

 

The Ginkgo Labyrinth has a shape of the etrnal knot – one of the most ancient noble symbols of ancient Egypt and Tibet. The eternal knot symbolizes the interrelation of all creatures and phenomena in the Universe. The nursery will become a place of interest, attracting people not only with unique trees but also with a fine shape of the labyrinth.

A SPECIAL SPOT

 

The Labyrinth is situated among lakes and forests in a very picturesque place near the village “Belaya Tserkov” (White Church). It was named after the church built in 1650 by Lev Sapega. It has a unique architectural and historic value for Belarus.

MISSION OF THE PROJECT

To create Ginkgo Labyrinth as a significant, inspiring and uniting object. It will be a symbol of aspiration to live in harmony with the nature, a calling to preserve and conserve relic and wild forests, a symbol of compassion towards all creatures on our planet who live in wild nature.

Our team is not made up of random people. We value friendly cooperation, based on trust and can-do attitude. We don’t have bosses, all the goals are set and performed together. We are united by one main idea, that shapes the atmosphere in the project. Everyone of us is part of the Labyrinth!
